CAMDEN – Sjakie Serio was born on April 12, 2013. He passed away on April 14, 2022. Sjakie was a Dutch Harness Horse who also went by Bubby, Chicken Nugget and Baby Horse.
Sjakie loved to sleep in his stall with extra shaving and a full stomach. He loved eating butterscotch candies, salt blocks, ice cold fresh water and carrots. Sjakie’s favorite things to do were throwing his halter and lead rope, kicking his stall door for treats and “holding” things in his mouth like brooms and brushes. He would make mean faces at other horses and enjoyed having his face brushed. Some of his favorite toys were zippers, jackets, and anything within reach that he could throw.
Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Sadie Serio and fur-siblings, Skipper, Bourbon, Coyote, Jackson, Koury, Beau, Bella, Bull, and Nugget.
Some of Sadie’s best memories of Sjakie were of him running crazy in his pasture, his first time jumping over a ditch, playing “tag” with him, their first ride again after his colic surgery, trail riding with Bella, and when she found out he secretly knew dressage. Sadie also fondly remembers the first time his saw himself in a mirror and fell in love with his own reflection.
