Buster Dominici

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Peanut “Buster” Dominici.

Peanut “Buster” passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, October 4, 2024.

Peanut “Buster” was born in New Jersey in 2011. He lived in Bluffton, SC and Pensacola, Florida with his original parents; the Hagenbuchs. It was there that he gained his love for football and would “red-zone” Alan. Around this time, Buster wanted to be like Houdini and would bolt out the door and explore and gained his love for the outdoors. His mischief of escaping and the Hagenbuchs’ need to travel with their jobs led to them contacting the Dominicis in 2014; where Buster lived his remaining years at the farm.

Buster is survived by two fur-brothers, and one fur-sister.

He was a lover of any dog bed, his favorite blanket and sofas, but Buster particularly loved a pile of clothes; especially if it meant he could be near his favorite humans.

Buster loved any food that he wasn’t supposed to have, but he preferred chicken. He was a pro at catching food in the air when it was thrown to him and he was notably known for the “catfish” sound he would make as he would catch food in the air.

In his prime, Buster enjoyed camping at his friends creek lot, chasing deer, rabbits, and other game that showed up at the door. He loved to make “Chewbacca” sounds to get his way. Buster would wait hours for his favorite Uncle to drive by so he could run to him to antagonize him by grabbing his pants leg and shaking it until he would get to sit in the truck with him. When Buster’s legs began failing him; he relied on his parents to move him from one spot to another and he looked forward to his morning and afternoon cart-rides where he felt like he was running, pain-free, and able to keep tabs of all his favorite wild animals he loved to watch.

Ray & Rebecca are forever thankful Alan & JoAnn trusted them with the care of precious Peanut Buster.

Buster’s family would like to thank everyone at Animal Hospital of Kingstree for their excellent care, love, and support over the past 10 years.

A special thank you to Dr. Buckner, Dr. Coker, Dr. Poston, and Buster’s favorite technician; April Hardy.
