Wingo Collins

Wingo was born in the fall of 2011. He was gotcha’d by his forever family in the Spring of 2012, in Columbia, SC. He passed away on May 5, 2025.

Wingo, also known as “Old Man,” loved to chase squirrels and play with his human siblings.

His favorite places to nap were in the kitchen, in front of the fire place, under the porch, and if it was raining, he liked to be outside in his doghouse. He liked to eat anything Beneful, turkey bones, and doggie cookies!

A few of his family’s favorite memories of him were how he loved to ride in the front seat of the car. The only problem was, he was a big dog. They would take out the front seat just so he could sit and look out of the window while they moved through the city. Another favorite of him was one Halloween, they painted his fur with glow-in-the-dark paint and took him trick-or-treating with them! He freaked out everyone that walked by! Lastly, while other dogs would run away from fireworks, Wingo would run towards them and try to attack them.

Left to cherish Wingo’s memory are his parents, Desmond and Tawanna; and human siblings, Johiah, Jamar, Keigan, and Zuri.
