Petey Steele

Petey was gotcha’d by his family on June 1, 2025 in Camden, SC. He passed away on July 1, 2025.

Petey, also known as “Petey Pete,” “Peppercorn,” and “Little Dude,” loved his stuffed raccoon toy. He also like to steal his moms makeup brushes and run through the house with them. His favorite activity was napping. He loved to nap! He liked laying up against his sister, Nyda, to sleep. His favorite place to sleep was on top of Jordan’s pillow in the bed. If he wasn’t there, you could find him under the blankets with Nyda. His favorite food was animal crackers.

Their favorite memories of him were that he was so small that they pushed him around the house in a puppy stroller so the big dogs wouldn’t step on him. They loved how he would sit in his puppy stroller while they were in the kitchen cooking! He would watch their every move. It became a routine that when it was time to cook, they would rolled Pete into the kitchen with them. They didn’t have Pete for very long, but in that short time, he made a big impact on their family.  All of his siblings miss him terribly.  They do too. We love you Petey! 

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Jordan and Melanea Steele; siblings, Nyda, his big sister and best friend, Sassy, Karma, Percy, AJ and Benjamin.
