Slater Quick

Slater was born in July 2011, in Lancaster, SC. He passed away July 15, 2025.

Slater, also known as “Slater Tater,” “Goblin Ears,” “Slater my Boi,” “My Big Ol’ Boy,” “Big Ol’ Baby,” “Sweet Boy,” or “Slater my Good Boy,” loved playing with his “step it” which was his squeaky toy, biting water from the water hose, pooping on trees, protecting the land and smaller animals, and getting lots of love.

His favorite place to sleep was in his shed with his girlfriend who is a cat, and he enjoyed eating fries and pizza.

His mom’s favorite memories of him were receiving him at the skate park and going through names to see what he would respond to. Originally, his name was sparkplug, but ultimately, Slater stuck. How he used to sleep on her head as a puppy. Him meeting his brothers, Akita (dog) and Christopher (human). He was so excited, and it seemed like he understood that they were his brothers. Lastly, seeing him sleep outside of his doghouse just so the cats could sleep inside and be warm.

Left to cherish his memory is his mom, Christy; dad’s, Oct Lee, Coree Clyburn, and Chris White; Gamma, Susan; pet siblings, Cletus, Petunia, and Jaskier; and human sibling, baby Christopher O’Neal White III.

He is preceded in death by his dog brother Akita, dog sister Mia, and snake brother Mochi.
