Hickory, NC – Forever in Our Hearts
With deep love and gentle sorrow, we remember Marilin, the beloved sugar glider who graced the world—and her mom Shelby’s life—for nearly 12 unforgettable years. Gotcha’d in Hickory, North Carolina, on July 27, 2013, she quickly made herself at home and in the hearts of everyone she met.
Also known affectionately as “Ms Lin,” she was a quiet soul with a warm heart, happiest when snuggled close to her mom or curled up with her glider siblings. Her favorite place to sleep was tucked gently in Shelby’s shirt, where she felt safe, loved, and never alone.

Ms. Lin cherished simple joys—like nibbling on avocado, her favorite treat, and listening intently as Shelby played the ukulele just for her. The sound of the strings and the closeness of her person brought her visible comfort and peace.
Though small in size, Ms. Lin’s spirit was adventurous. She loved exploring the world beside Shelby, her tiny paws clinging to a bond forged by trust and love. Those shared adventures—quiet or thrilling—are memories held dear.

She joins her siblings Percy, Lily, River and Piper across the Rainbow Bridge and leaves behind a legacy of warmth and love in the hearts of Shelby and her living glider family: Merry, Pippin, and Muffin.
Ms. Lin, you were more than a pet—you were a companion, a constant, and a quiet light. You will always be missed, but your love and your presence live on in the memories we keep close.
Rest softly, sweet girl.
