In Loving Memory of Fuzzy Sanders
December 25, 2018 – July 28, 2025
Forever My Heart Dog
Born on Christmas Day in 2018, Fuzzy Sanders came into this world wrapped in warmth, joy, and love—qualities he would carry with him every day of his life. He was more than a pet; he was family. After the passing of Mr. Frank D. Sander, United States Marine, beloved husband, and steadfast protector, Fuzzy quietly stepped into the role of guardian and companion for Verloria Johnson-Sanders, his devoted mom.
From that day—March 7, 2020, a day that changed everything—Fuzzy became Verloria’s heart dog, her anchor in grief, and her joy in the everyday. He was a faithful presence waiting at the door each evening, eager to share stories in his own unique voice. He always had something to say—especially to anyone who entered his home, where he proudly stood watch and welcomed all.
Fuzzy had a big personality and even bigger heart. His favorite things in life were simple and sincere: squeaky balls, crunchy Cheetos for an afternoon snack, and the softest, most regal blankets and pillows a dog could dream of—because sleeping on the floor simply wasn’t fit for a king like him. If you drifted off before he did, he would gently climb up beside you, not to disturb, but to be close—because closeness was his love language.
He especially adored visits to Pet Paradise, where he basked in affection (especially from the girls with blond hair!) and where his spirit could run free and loved. Around the grandchildren, Fuzzy took on yet another noble title: gentle guardian. He would sit patiently, watching over them until they fell asleep, softly placing his nose near their faces to make sure they were safe and breathing easy.
Fuzzy passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025, after a brief illness, leaving behind a family full of beautiful memories and hearts heavy with loss. He was lovingly known as “Fuzzo,” and to his mom Verloria, he was—and always will be—the best dog a girl could ever have.
Fuzzo’s legacy is not just in the joy he gave, but in the love he left behind. He filled the silence with warmth, the emptiness with companionship, and the sorrow with comfort. He was a loyal witness to love, loss, and healing.
Though he’s gone, his pawprints will remain forever on the hearts of all who loved him.
Rest well, Fuzzo. You did your job beautifully.
