In Loving Memory of Ruby Jean Clark

Forever Our Ruby Doo 💖

Born on a Christmas Day in Columbia, South Carolina, Ruby Jean Clark was a gift in every sense of the word. From the moment she entered the lives of those who loved her, she brought comfort, joy, and the kind of companionship that only a truly special soul can offer.

Affectionately known as “Rubs” or “Ruby Doo,” she was the treasured heart of her pet parent Lea Clark, and a beloved sibling to Elizabeth, Charlie, Tootie, Rain, Snowflake, and Charlotte. Whether she was busy playing with her favorite hard bones, balls, or squeaky toys, or snuggled under a blanket on the recliner, Ruby’s presence made every moment feel warmer, safer, and more complete.

Ruby loved the simple pleasures of life: relaxing with a cozy blanket, watching TV, and people-watching from the window. Her favorite spot in the world was in the recliner with Grandma, snuggled deep in comfort and love. And if you forgot your spot? She’d gently paw at you—her sweet little way of reminding you to sit back and let her curl up in your lap to drift into sleep.

She had refined tastes, too—Parmesan-crusted chicken was her favorite delicacy. And in the colder months, when someone grabbed a jacket, Ruby would patiently wait for her sweater—because of course, she knew she deserved to be bundled up too.

But perhaps Ruby’s most remarkable gift was her heart. She had a gentle and unshakable sense when someone was having a bad day. Whether through a quiet cuddle, a paw on your leg, or just her calming presence, Ruby Jean always knew how to comfort the ones she loved.

On July 27, 2025, Ruby passed peacefully, leaving behind a family wrapped in gratitude for every moment she shared with them. Though she is no longer nestled in the recliner or gazing out the window, her spirit lives on—in every comforting touch, every warm blanket, and every quiet act of love.

Rest easy, Ruby Doo. You were love in its purest form, and you will forever be missed.
