Bobby Ellis

In Loving Memory of Bobby Ellis
December 11, 2006 – August 8, 2025
Forever Our Curious, Mischievous Boy 🐾💙

Born at his Grandma BJ’s house on December 11, 2006, to his feline parents Tootie and Oscar, Bobby Ellis was destined to be one-of-a-kind from the very beginning. At just 10 weeks old, he came to live with his devoted mom, Glenda Ellis, where he would spend more than 18 beautiful years bringing joy, laughter, and a little bit of mischief into every corner of the home.

To his mom, he was Bobby. To his grandma BJ, he was affectionately “Robert.” He was the middle child of a litter of five, preceded in death by his adopted sisters Sasha and Katie, and survived by his adopted brother Sebastian.

Bobby’s life was full of energy, curiosity, and unforgettable antics. From a young age, it was clear he was special—the first of his litter to figure out how to climb over the baby gate. That curiosity once led to a legendary family story: after slipping away unnoticed one evening, Bobby somehow ended up sitting on the top shelf inside the refrigerator, discovered only when BJ opened the door an hour later.

There were so many moments that proved Bobby’s zest for life:
🐾 The time he slipped outside during the first heavy snow at his new home and nearly tore the screen off the window trying to get back in.
🐾 The day a lizard got into the house, and Bobby’s “tennis ball” skills sent it flying past his mom’s head in midair.
🐾 The 3 a.m. incident when, out of boredom, he snatched his sister Katie right off the bed—turning a peaceful night into instant chaos.

In his younger years, Bobby especially enjoyed harassing Katie like an annoying but loving little brother. In his later years, after Katie passed, he slowed down and found joy in lounging on the couch with his mom, watching TV. His favorite toys included a realistic bird that chirped and flapped and a cat scratcher wheel with a ball. His favorite snack—no contest—was Temptations cat treats.

Bobby had a few favorite spots to rest, but none better than the king-size bed in the spare room or curled up with his mom on the couch. Wherever he was, he brought warmth and love with him.

In the final months of his life, Bobby fought bravely—pushing through several relapses, always bouncing back until his body could no longer keep up, though his spirit never dimmed. He lived fully, loved deeply, and, true to his nature, used all of his nine lives.

Bobby’s passing on August 8, 2025, leaves a space in his family’s hearts that can never be filled. Life will never be quite the same without him, but his love, his silliness, and his endless curiosity will live on in every story, every memory, and every smile he gave.

Rest easy, sweet Bobby.
You were loved for every single day of your long, beautiful life—and you will be loved forever.
