Born on April 28, 2009, Hank’s life truly began when he found his forever family on May 24, 2012, at the Delaware County Humane Society in Delaware, Ohio. From that day forward, he became the heart of his dads, Joe Legander and Rick Walker, and a beloved grandson to Kim and Jim Legander.

Known affectionately by many nicknames—Sweet Pea, Pea, Hanksy, Bug, Buggie—Hank brought warmth, laughter, and unconditional love into every room he entered. He shared his home with siblings Chloe (dog) and Mittens (cat), always finding comfort in family and companionship.

Hank had a gentle way about him. He adored his little plushies, never once destroying them, instead lovingly laying with them as if they were his own treasures. His favorite place to be was always next to his papa—whether curled up under his arm in bed or resting together on the couch, Hank’s love was felt most in his closeness.

His tastes were simple and pure: lettuce, green beans, veggies of all kinds, chicken, cheese, and the occasional special treat—a McDonald’s plain hamburger “hammie”. Those little joys, shared with his dads, became moments that meant everything.

Hank leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will forever be cherished:

1. Long drives together, with treats and companionship.
2. Happy stops at McDonald’s, where he knew just what to expect.
3. Playtime at the park and joyful vacations to the beach.
4. Adventures to the NC mountains, full of new scents and sights.
5. The quiet comfort of cuddling together at home, or simply following Dad from room to room, never letting him out of his sight.
6. The excitement of moving to South Carolina from Ohio, starting fresh as a family in their first home together.

Hank’s passing on August 26, 2025, leaves behind a space that can never be filled. But his love, loyalty, and sweet spirit will remain etched in the hearts of his family forever.
