Born on Broad River Road, Charlie Burgess—affectionately nicknamed Mini Cat—was a gentle soul who became the heart of his family. On his Gotcha Day, July 14, 2023, Charlie found his forever home with Jaydan and Vick, joining his siblings Limmy the cat and Benz, his human brother.
Charlie’s journey to his family was nothing short of special. His mom was a stray at his humans’ apartment complex, where she was lovingly fed until her kittens were born. One day, she brought her babies onto the patio to eat. When asked if Charlie could become part of the family, his mom seemed to understand—because the very next day, she left Charlie by the steps of the apartment. From that moment on, Charlie was home, and his family was complete.
He was a playful and curious boy who loved his string toy and silver vine stick, and he especially enjoyed a good kibble scavenger hunt. His favorite food was canned tuna, a treat that always made him purr with delight. At night, he found comfort by sleeping on your side while you slept, as close to his loved ones as he could be.
Charlie’s family will always treasure his presence, his quiet companionship, and his loving nature. His story is one of trust, love, and the bond between a little stray kitten and the people who became his forever home.
On August 20, 2025, Charlie passed, leaving behind memories that will live in his family’s hearts forever.
