In Loving Memory of Thad Fitzwater
March 23, 2017 – August 30, 2025
Forever Our Thaddeus 🐾❤️
Born on March 23, 2017—National Puppy Day—Thad Fitzwater had a beginning as tough as it was uncertain. He was discovered during a drug raid, the only dog on the premises, believed to have been traded for drugs. From that dark place, he was taken to the Humane Society, where fate intervened, and he found his forever family with Ranee and John.
From that moment forward, Thad’s life was full of love, laughter, and belonging. Affectionately called Thaddeus, he grew up alongside his Doberman brother Kallias, two years his junior, and became the beloved companion of Bron, the family’s youngest son, who would use him as a pillow while reading stories.
Thad’s favorite toy was his XL Kong jumbler ball—the only toy tough enough to withstand his joyful determination. He loved tug of war, eating, nursing on his fluffy pillow to fall asleep, and being outdoors with his family at their cabin, soaking in the peace of nature. At home, his favorite place to rest was on the dog couch with Kallias, always side by side.

When it came to food, Thad had a taste for the best—steak, bacon, and anything from the fridge. On warm evenings, he even enjoyed a tiny splash of beer on the patio, a reminder that life was meant to be savored.
But what set Thad apart was his spirit. He was the sweetest, clumsiest, happiest boy, always ready to bring joy. Every time Ranee came home, he would proudly greet her with his ball, tail wagging furiously. He carried himself like a service dog without ever having training, instinctively knowing when someone was sick or sad and refusing to leave their side. His gentle presence was healing, his love unconditional.
On August 30, 2025, Thad passed away, leaving behind a family who will forever treasure his companionship, loyalty, and endless kisses. He came from hardship, but he lived a life filled with love, laughter, and the comfort of family.
Rest peacefully, sweet Thaddeus.
You were proof that love heals, and you will always be remembered as the happiest boy, the truest friend, and a light in your family’s hearts. 🐾❤️
