Brody Inglesby

🌈 In Loving Memory of Brody Inglesby
2014 – September 5, 2025

Brody’s story is one of second chances, fate, and the deepest kind of love. He was a shelter dog, adopted and returned not once, but twice. But his journey was never about rejection—it was about waiting for the right person, the right moment, the right forever.

That moment came on August 28, 2020, when Jessie felt an irresistible pull to visit the SPCA. There, sitting like the gentleman he always was, waited Brody. She didn’t yet know he was the very same dog she had admired online months earlier, the one she thought she wasn’t ready for after losing her beloved Rizzo. But Brody knew. He had been waiting for her, and that day they finally found each other. On their way home, a rainbow appeared—a promise of the bond that would carry them both through life and beyond.

Brody, known by his many nicknames—Brotato, Tators, Bestie—was six years old when he passed, leaving behind his loving pet parents, Jessie and Joel Inglesby, and his cherished siblings: Eliza, Zakk, Emily, Berlin, and Ava.

Though he wasn’t much for toys, Brody lived for food—there was nothing he wouldn’t nibble on with gusto. But more than anything, he loved his people. His favorite activities included lounging in the sunshine in his yard and snuggling close to his mommy, where he felt safest. His favorite place to sleep was right on her, reminding everyone that he was exactly where he was meant to be.

Brody’s favorite memories live on through his family: his gentlemanly patience, his resilience, and the day he made Jessie’s heart whole again. He was more than a rescue—he was a rescuer himself, bringing comfort, love, and joy every single day.

On September 5, 2025, Brody crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Though gone too soon, his presence will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him most.

Rest well, sweet Brody.
Your rainbow promise reminds us that one day, we’ll see you again. Until then, may you lounge in eternal sunshine and snuggle close in spirit. 🐾💙
