Buddy Honeycutt

In Loving Memory of Buddy “Fluffy Butt” Honeycutt

Buddy Honeycutt, lovingly known as “Fluffy Butt,” “Buddy Boy,” and “Budz,” was more than a beloved companion — he was a gentle soul, a loyal friend, and a source of unconditional love to everyone who knew him. Adopted on January 11, 2013, in Indian Trail, North Carolina, Buddy quickly became a cherished part of the family of Leah Trammell and Kenneth Honeycutt, filling their lives with warmth, laughter, and comfort until his peaceful passing on February 11, 2026.

From the very beginning, Buddy showed his strong spirit and loving heart. Even during the ride home after his adoption — still groggy and placed in a cardboard box — he refused to stay inside, determined instead to be close to the person who had already captured his heart. It was as if he knew he had found his forever family, and that bond only grew stronger with every passing year.

Buddy found joy in the simple moments: sunbathing in the warmth, riding in the car with the wind flowing through his fluffy ears, cuddling close to those he loved, and running proudly with a bone in his mouth while howling with happiness. His favorite place to rest was wherever his family was — especially nestled between Mommy and Daddy or curled up beside someone he loved. If there was a warm seat left behind, Buddy would happily claim it, soaking in both comfort and closeness.

He loved deeply and gently, especially with his siblings — Ginger and Sasha who went before him, and Poe, Thor, and Rusty who shared his life. He showed endless patience and kindness, even when little Thor tried to play with his fluffy tail, always responding with the calm, loving nature that defined him.

Buddy’s playful spirit shined through in the little things — rolling on his back in happy circles, playing in the snow with childlike joy, or cleverly eating the cheese wrapped around his medicine while leaving the pill behind. He loved everyone he met — people and animals alike — offering a quiet companionship that made those around him feel safe, loved, and never alone.

Buddy was more than a pet; he was family, a constant presence, a gentle protector, and a heart full of love. Though his physical presence is deeply missed, the memories of his kindness, loyalty, and the countless moments of comfort he gave will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.

Because every pawprint leaves a forever mark on our hearts — and Buddy’s will never fade. 🐾🤍
