Darby Beauchamp Gilpin

In Loving Memory of Darby Beauchamp Gilpin
Estimated 2019 – February 11, 2026

Darby Beauchamp Gilpin — lovingly known as Darby Doo and Nana’s Baby Girl — came into her family’s life on November 18, 2021, after crossing their path in the yard, very pregnant and very much in need of love. From that moment on, she was home.

Though the vet estimated she was born in 2019, it was the day she chose her family in Dalzell that truly marked the beginning of her beautiful life with Jennifer Gilpin, Jackie, and James Beauchamp. Darby had no siblings, but she never needed them — she filled every corner of the home with enough personality, sweetness, and devotion all on her own.

Darby had a love for life’s simple pleasures. She adored her deer antlers, rolling freely in the grass during her beloved “Momma walks,” and riding along to pick up takeout. Every walk included at least three dramatic, joyful grass rolls — as if she needed the earth to know how happy she was.

She had a special routine for everything. She always loved when her Uncle Jody would come to visit her every weekend. He would not say hi to anyone, until he made his way to Darby first with a hello and a scratch on her head. At night, she would curl up in Nana and Pop Pop’s bed. During the day, she loved laying on Momma’s bed, keeping watch while she worked from home — always close, always present. She sniffed every single thing that came through the door, determined to know exactly what was happening in her world.

And if Nana said, “Would you like a surprise?” — Darby knew it was Chewnola time. She especially loved anything Nana was eating, particularly if it had ketchup on it.

Darby’s story began unexpectedly, but it unfolded into something deeply beautiful. She was loyal, curious, joyful, and full of heart. Her presence brought comfort and laughter, and her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled.

Though she crossed the Rainbow Bridge on February 11, 2026, the love she gave remains steady and strong.

Forever Nana’s Baby Girl. Forever Darby Doo. Forever loved. 🐾🤍
