ELGIN- Boots Hughes, 15, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2022. Born in Hemingway in November of 2006, she was a Chihuahua.
Boots, lovingly known as “Bootz,” “Kitty,” and “Key,” loved sleeping with her momma in the mornings and laying in the sun. She enjoyed sleeping in her daddy’s armpit or on her momma’s stomach. Her favorite food was cat food, and she hated the Vacuum and Lady. Some of the best memories are of Boots playing with Sissy and her favorite toy, Piggy.
Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Jay and Holly Hughes; siblings, Hailey and Max; fur-sibling, Spooch; grandparents, Don and Wanda Hughes; grandma, Cindy; and special friend, Miss Shirley. Waiting to greet her on the other side of the rainbow bridge was her fur-parents, Nemo and Tinkerbell.

She never knew a stranger and was always up for slipping into your lap or armpit and being petted for hours. One thing is certain, she knew nothing but love and affection from the moment she was born to the time she passed. She had a blessed life and will be missed.
I am so sorry. My deepest condolence to the family. Kitty would get so excited when I went to visit.
You will be missed. But we will care you always in our hearts. This is not good bye. I will see you again.
