Stevie Wonder Floyd

Stevie Wonder was born on April 8, 2010 in Westmister, SC at his Nana and Pops’ house to their late sweetheart Holly. He passed away on July 9, 2024.

Stevie Wonder, also known as “Steven,” ” Stevie Boy,” ” Baby Boy,” Handsome fella” loved all squeaky toys. If it made a noise he loved it! If he wasn’t playing with a squeaky toy you could find him snuggling with his Mommy and Daddy in the bed. Milk and cookies with his Daddy was one of his favorite things to do and going to the beach and running in the sand and water. He loved that! He would never turn down a good cuddle or scratches either.

His favorite place to sleep was in the bed between his Mommy and Daddy. When it comes to favorite foods it was anything on his parents plate.

Their favorite memory of him was when he would sniff through his stocking on Christmas mornings to find his treats. He was just the best dog anybody could ever ask for! He was so full of love, joy, and happiness!

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Butch and Ashley Floyd; sibling, Polliwogs.

Stevie, whose first name was Ghost when he was still with us was a very special boy. Even though he was blind he was house trained by 3 months old. He learned to follow a flashlight to come in at night. He never let blindness stop him from anything. Nana loved you so much. Now you will be with your first Mommy, Holly Isabella across the Raimbow Bridge.

  5. Sweet Stevie. 🐾🐾🐾 πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”

I found two quotes to share with you both that I like so much.

β€œHow lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” – Winnie The Pooh
β€œDon’t cry because it’s over; smile because it happened.”  – Dr. Seuss

What a beautiful life your boy had. I know how much your heart hurts right now and wish I could take some of that pain away because I know it oh so well. Thinking of you both and sending big hugs and lots of love.

  6. Losing a friend is difficult. Losing a best friend is hard. Losing man’s best friend is even harder.

When father time picks up the phone and you get the call for the big league; Stevie Boy will be waiting for you. He’ll be patiently waiting so you can make that walk across the rainbow bridge – together – in peace. Until then, he’ll be looking over you guys, smiling down.

Our prayers go out to you and Ashley.

    We love you guys.

  7. Beautiful post. My heart goes out to you both. Stevie was an amazing boy and he will be missed by all that knew him. He was well loved!

  8. Steven was the best, most handsome boy! πŸ™‚ He was a light in my life and it always made me happy to walk in and sweet talk him and watch his tail wag as he almost cried with excitement. I’ll never forget him and Memphis running around and staying in the ol’ lake trailer in the GOOD AC while we went out on the lake. Or when he would hide under the porch with his favorite toys and refuse to come inside. Or when someone would disrupt his slumber and he had to show them just exactly how good his growls were. And last but not least, him hunting down a good snack or a cozy lap to lay on. He sure will be missed by us!! We love him and yall!

I always told your mom and dad you reminded me of Zero from The Nightmare Before Christmas πŸ‘» It was a feature of yours that made my heart squeeze when I’d see you and smile. You are greatly missed by your mom and dad, and just as much by those who have had the honor of knowing you, and loving you. Fly high sweet boy 🌈🌈

  13. The first time I met Stevie he was not happy. He did not know me and I think he was trying to protect his parents. It didn’t take long for him to change his mind. I loved how he would jump in my lap or snuggle up close to me. He always made me feel loved. Thank you for that Stevie. That isn’t something I will ever forget. I know you are happy in heaven and will be there to greet us all when it is our turn.

  14. The first time I saw Stevie he was not happy. That’s only because he didn’t know me. After that, he was a wonderful dog that always made me feel loved. I will always miss him laying in my lap or snuggling up close to me. He was more than a dog. He was my friend and I will miss him very much!
