Pongo was born October 31, 2009, in Wagner, SC. He passed away December 15, 2024.
Pongo, also known as “Pongo Longo,” “Pong Pong,” “Pongie,” “Babalu,” “Jocko,” or “Baby Boy,” loved chilling outside, going on car rides to Lowes, Tractor Supply, or the farmers market. He loved his quality control rides to make sure the vehicle was in tip-top shape. He loved going on boat rides and walking in the lake and ocean. He would bring the mail and newspaper in for a peanut butter cracker or pick up his dad’s hat and bring it to him. He also loved the family adventures to bike weeks in different states.
His favorite toys were his stuffed squeaker squirrel and newspaper toy. He enjoyed sleeping on his bed in the winter and on the living room A/C vent in the summer. On the porch during nice days, or napping anywhere dad was. But, at bedtime he would sleep with his parents on the big bed.
Pongo loved his coffee, Slim Jims, and Peanut Butter crackers.
They have many memories of Pongo, but some of their favorites were going to Myrtle Beach and watching him dip his paws in the ocean, going to Florida to visit family, and going to the campground to visit family, who also brought Pongo’s mom to see him.
Left to cherish Pongo’s memory are his parents, John and Kim Blackman; human siblings, Ruth and John Louis; and fur-siblings, Obe and Raven.
