Kory Baldwin

Kory Baldwin (lovingly also called Kory Bory and Korita Chorita) was born on April 28, 2011 and we adopted her on July 18, 2011 from the Kershaw County Humane Society. She was supposed to be adopted for someone else but thru situations beyond our control she remained with us and it was meant to be. She was a blessing to us all with her quirky personality and stubborn strength.

Kory crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on February 12, 2025 after a lengthy battle with illness.  It was her stubborn spirit that kept her going long after anyone expected.  She dearly loved her family; mom Janet, sister Cel, brother Travis, and her two closest human friends Will and neighbor Bob.  Her fur brothers Cooper, Freddie, and Fosse will miss her greatly as well as her furfoster mom, Lil’ Mama, who predeceased her by 1 week.  Kory’s best fur buddy,  Renegade, I’m  sure was waiting for her at the other side of the bridge.

Kory loved chewing;  taking the squeakers and stuffing out of toys and destroying remote controllers, ear buds, eye glasses, shoes, almost anything.  Her favorite toy was Raffi, the giraffe and Turtle Beach.  They have been repaired many times because of her love.

Kory loved hunting geckos, laying on the deck while her Mom read, going for walks with Cooper (she was his seeing eye dog) and listening to podcasts with the grownups.

Kory loved sleeping in her chair which was next to her Mom’s, napping in her crate which always was her “safe” spot and curled up in front of the fire on cold winter nights.

Kory was always a finicky eater, and her favorite foods were Chicken Alfredo (we could get her to eat this most times when she would eat nothing else,) pancakes, pizza, Rosh Hashanah challah, and her Mintie she got every night at bedtime.

We already miss our girl so much, and we will forever treasure the memories and love she unconditionally gave us.

  1. What a wonderful tribute to your sweet Kory. You all loved her a lot and she returned that love. To be missed means to have been loved and it’s obvious Kory knew she was. She is now running free waiting to welcome you home.
    Much love,
    Dottie
