In Loving Memory of Charlie Mandau
~July 2018 – August 18, 2025
Forever Our Chubbabun 🐾❤️
Born around July 2018 at the BP in Elgin, SC, Charlie Mandau found his forever home with his loving mom, Nan Mandau, and his brother, Oswald. From that day forward, Charlie—known affectionately as Chubbabun, Charlie Bear, Charble, and Chubble—filled his family’s life with laughter, cuddles, and a little bit of mischief.
Charlie was a cat with both charm and sass. His favorite toy was his beloved mushroom (“he’s a fun-guy”), and his favorite pastimes were sleeping, eating, and—most importantly—play-wrestling with Oswald. Sometimes that meant throwing his brother across the room (accidentally, of course), only for the two of them to enjoy dinner side by side afterward.
When he wasn’t causing mischief, Charlie loved to spend time in his most regal spot—the fancy golden chair, where he reigned like the true king of the house. He had a taste for the finer things, too—especially his favorite treat, Churu spoons, which he could never resist.
Some of the family’s most treasured memories of Charlie are the quiet, loving moments: cuddling together during movies, soaking up pets and loves, and “helping” Mom with her beadwork—usually by sitting in her lap and smacking the string she was trying to use. His mix of sweetness, silliness, and boldness made him unforgettable.
On August 18, 2025, Charlie passed, leaving behind his mom and his brother Oswald, who will miss him dearly. Though his time here was far too short, Charlie lived fully—bringing laughter, warmth, and a lifetime of memories in just a few years.
Rest well, sweet Charlie Bear. You were truly one of a kind, and you will be forever loved. 🐾💙
