Piper Hough

Piper Marie Hough was born July 24, 2012 and died November 30, 2025. Born in Conway, SC to her “Mama” Sydney Hough Fann, Piper was Sydney’s loyal companion for her final year at Coastal Carolina. In 2014, due to no pet policy leases, Piper came to reside at her “Grandparents” Chris and Tami Hough’s home in Lugoff where she remained until her death. Despite her residing in Lugoff, she remained tethered to Sydney’s heart and they saw one another often. Piper gained a family when Sydney married Aaron Fann, then came siblings Chase (Sister) and Parker (Brother).

She had many nicknames but Pipey and Tinky Butt were the most popular. Her absolute favorite activity was sitting on the back of the couch watching out the window “patrolling” the neighborhood and barking at anyone who dared to step in her yard. Tiny but mighty in spirit. Piper LOVED to BARK and she LOVED food. As small as she was, she was always ready for a snack or a treat. Her favorite food without a doubt was french fries!

There are too many wonderful and funny memories to name. Beyond grateful for smooches, smelling her Frito toes, naps with her on the couch and playing with her not knowing it was her last days. Piper truly thought she was human, and loved her humans. She enriched everyone’s lives she touched in so many ways. Our loss is a devastating one. Until her family meets her again. Piper may you always know Sydney, Aaron, Chase and Parker – Corey (Uncle) and Sidney (Aunt) – Chris and Tami love you and will forever mourn and miss you.
