In Loving Memory of Reese Fortson
January 2020 – January 30, 2026
Reese Fortson came into his family’s life in January 2020, rescued with love and given the home he so deeply deserved. Though his exact birth date was unknown, it’s believed Reese lived to be about 17 years old, filling those years with loyalty, comfort, and quiet joy.
Reese was cherished by his dad, Charlie, along with Aunt Courtney and Yia Yia Christi, who all loved him dearly. He shared his home with his beloved fur sisters, Cooper the dachshund and Stokes the cat, forming a little family built on companionship and trust.
Reese loved anything that squeaked and never turned down time chasing his favorite ball. But his happiest moments were the simple ones—hanging out and relaxing with his dad, just being close. Wherever Charlie was, Reese wanted to be too. As long as he was touching or leaning against his person, Reese was content and at peace.

One of the most treasured memories of Reese is sitting together on a mountain porch, quietly taking in the breathtaking view. In that stillness, Reese was exactly where he belonged—safe, loved, and surrounded by the beauty of the world and the person he trusted most.
On January 30, 2026, Reese crossed the Rainbow Bridge, leaving behind a space that can never be filled. Though his paws no longer walk beside his family, his love remains woven into every memory and every quiet moment.
Rest easy, sweet Reese. May there always be squeaky toys, warm places to rest, and a porch with the most beautiful view waiting for you. You were deeply loved and will be forever missed. 🐾💙

He was a little snuggle bug for his dad and his sister, Cooper. He loved life to the fullest and was always up for a truck ride. Dad would put the pup bed in the truck to keep them comfortable, and off they would go.
I believe the mountains were their favorite spot—although he didn’t care much for the snow. He had a great life and will be deeply missed, but there is no more suffering now.
Chase all the balls and squeaky toys you want. 🌈🐾
If you’d like, I can also help you turn this into something for a memorial post, photo caption, or keepsake.
I love you Reese boy! Yia Yia
