In Loving Memory of Dixie Faulkenberry
April 1, 2011 — March 26, 2026
Dixie Faulkenberry, lovingly known as “Dix,” was a loyal, loving, and devoted companion who filled her family’s life with joy, protection, and unconditional love for nearly 15 beautiful years.
Born in Columbia, South Carolina, and adopted from a rescue at PetSmart, Dixie found her forever home with her loving family — Wayne & Miriam Faulkenberry and Derrick Faulkenberry — where she would become not just a pet, but a deeply cherished member of the family.
Dixie had a spirited personality and a love for life’s simple pleasures. She adored her squeaky Kong toys, loved playing ball, and could often be found chasing squirrels or running freely outside. One of her favorite roles was keeping watch at the front door — always alert, always protective, always looking out for the ones she loved.
When it came time to rest, Dixie’s favorite place was wherever Mom or Dad were. Being close to her people brought her comfort, just as her presence brought comfort to them.
She had a sweet side that made her even more special — from enjoying her favorite treat of ice cream to giving kisses after drinking water, little moments that made her unforgettable. She was also fiercely loving toward her grandchildren, always watching over them with a protective and gentle heart.
One of the most treasured routines was her Saturday trips to the recycle center — simple moments that became lifelong memories, just because they were spent together.
Dixie was more than a dog — she was a protector, a companion, and a steady, loving presence in her family’s life. Her loyalty never wavered, and her love was felt in every moment she shared with them.
Though she is no longer by their side, her spirit lives on in every memory, every routine, and every quiet moment where her presence is deeply missed.
Run free, sweet Dix. You were deeply loved, and you will never be forgotten. 🐾🤍
