Cyrus Mart was a dog who never met a stranger and never missed an opportunity to be part of the action. From the day he was adopted from the Kershaw County Humane Society, he became so much more than a pet—he became family.
Cyrus lived life with a joyful heart and an adventurous spirit. He loved spending time with his family and friends, going for rides, and tagging along wherever the family happened to be headed. It didn’t matter what the destination was; if his people were going, Cyrus wanted to be there. Being included was one of his greatest joys, and he was happiest when surrounded by those he loved.
He enjoyed chewing on any kind of bone he could get his paws on and could often be found stretched out in someone’s bed. His favorite sleeping spot wasn’t a particular room or blanket—it was simply wherever there was a warm place next to someone he cared about.
When it came to food, Cyrus had a particular talent for finding things he wasn’t supposed to have. Cheese was an undeniable favorite, and if there was a chance for a sneaky bite, Cyrus was always willing to take it.
His family will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. From family trips to the beach and afternoons spent playing outside to his famous “rodeo runs”—those excited circles he would race around whenever happiness got the better of him—Cyrus had a way of turning ordinary moments into treasured memories. His enthusiasm for life was contagious, and his excitement could bring a smile to anyone’s face.
