Ragnar Buckner

In Loving Memory of Ragnar “Purrman” Buckner
September 2, 2016 – July 2, 2026

With heavy hearts, we celebrate the life of Ragnar, affectionately known as “Purrman,” a beloved companion whose love and personality left paw prints on the hearts of everyone who knew him.

Ragnar’s story began in Pearl River, Louisiana, when he was found in a ditch across from his grandparents’ home. What started as an unexpected rescue blossomed into nearly ten years of unconditional love, comfort, and cherished memories with his family.

Ragnar was the treasured boy of Kimberly and Jonathan Buckner and a devoted brother to Stryker, Ajax, Shilo, and Salem. He had a playful spirit and never outgrew his love for fuzzy balls and chasing a laser across the room. One of his favorite pastimes was playing tag with his family, proving that even a cat could turn ordinary moments into treasured adventures.

He found happiness in the simple things—chewing on toes, snuggling up for naps, stretching out on top of the sofa cushions, or resting faithfully outside Stryker’s bedroom door. Ragnar especially loved sliced turkey and was always interested in whatever Momma happened to be eating.

The memories he leaves behind are countless and priceless. From road trips where he perched on Maw Maw’s head while she drove, to seeing snow for the very first time and leaving tiny paw prints behind, Ragnar made every moment special. He loved curling up on Daddy’s lap to watch television, greeting his family with a meow the moment the door opened, and gazing out the window while watching the birds outside.

Perhaps one of Ragnar’s most beautiful qualities was his gentle, caring heart. Whenever Stryker was sick, Ragnar stayed faithfully by his side, quietly watching over him and offering comfort that only a beloved pet can give.

Though Ragnar’s earthly journey ended on July 2, 2026, the love he shared remains. His purrs, his playful antics, and his unwavering devotion will forever be remembered by those who loved him. He was more than a pet—he was family, a protector, a best friend, and a constant source of joy.

Run free, sweet Purrman. May there always be sunny windows, endless naps, and plenty of turkey on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.
