Sadie Ellis

In Loving Memory of Sadie “Sadian Maxwell” Ellis

November 18, 2020 — August 30, 2026

Sadie Ellis, affectionately known as Sadian Maxwell, came into his mom BJ Ellis’s life in the most unexpected way. On a dark and rainy night, BJ heard a distressed cry coming from her neighbor’s driveway. Thinking one of her cats might be hurt, she went to investigate and instead found a tiny, frightened—and very loud—baby. The moment BJ picked him up, Sadie clung tightly to her shirt and stopped crying. He stayed there while she carried in the rest of her groceries, and from that night forward, he was home.

Sadie quickly bonded with Molly, his Chihuahua sister who became his adopted doggie mom. He cuddled beside her wherever she went—even when Molly tried finding higher ground for a little peace! She also taught Sadie one very important household rule: whenever the refrigerator opened, a deli meat tax had to be paid. Thanks to Molly, turkey and ham became some of his favorite treats.

Sadie shared his home with feline siblings Ace and Anna and doggie sisters Stella, Pua, and Panda. He loved stealing the dogs’ toys, playing with shoes, claiming the middle of the couch, and, perhaps most of all, annoying his siblings.

His name came with a funny story of its own. Sadie was such a beautiful baby that everyone was convinced he was a girl. A few months later, it became very obvious that Sadie was actually a boy! He then became Sadian Maxwell, a name that seemed perfectly suited to the mischievous, playful little personality he had grown into.

Sadie was full of energy, mischief, and enough personality to keep his entire family entertained. From that rainy rescue night to all the laughter and chaos that followed, he made his place in BJ’s heart from the very moment he clung to her shirt.

Greatly loved. Greatly missed. Forever BJ’s mischievous Sadian Maxwell. 🐾🤍
