In Loving Memory of Bubba Blackman-Ray

10 Years Old — August 14, 2026

Bubba Blackman-Ray, lovingly known as Mr. Dumpy and Eeyore, was a sweet, sassy boy whose goofy personality made it impossible not to fall in love with him. Bubba joined Ruthie Blackman and Bradley Ray’s family on August 13, 2024, and although they only had two years together, he quickly became such an important part of their lives.

From the very first moment Bubba saw Ruthie and Bradley, it was as if he knew they were his people. He happily jumped right into their car, ready to go home and begin his new life with them. He soon became part of the pack alongside his doggie sisters, Gracie and Sasha. Watching Bubba run and jump with his sisters was always good for a smile, especially with his adorable short legs and his own unique way of moving.

Bubba was definitely a boy who loved his food. He could often be found in the kitchen searching the floor for any crumb someone might have left behind. Chicken nuggets were a favorite, but truthfully, Bubba was happy with just about anything. He even figured out that his grandparents lived only about 250 feet away and would sneak over for a few extra snacks whenever he had the chance.

He loved car rides, golf cart rides, boat rides, camping, and spending time outside when the weather was just right. Toys weren’t really his thing. If someone threw a tennis ball, Bubba might look like he was going after it—until something else caught his attention and he completely forgot about the ball.

At the end of the day, Bubba was happiest sleeping on the dog beds beside Gracie or Sasha. His time with his family may have been much shorter than they ever wanted, but the love he brought into their lives was enormous.
