Raven Haines

In Loving Memory of Raven Haines

July 1, 2020 — September 1, 2026

Raven Haines was a beautiful girl with a personality her parents, Rick and Katy, described perfectly as “a little spitfire coated with honey.” Born in Rochester, New York, Raven came into their lives on September 21, 2020, after their family had already fostered more than 20 pups. But Raven was different.

The moment Katy pulled into the driveway with her, Raven and Rick locked eyes. Rick immediately said, “She’s mine. We’re not letting her go.” Raven apparently agreed, because from that day forward, the two shared an incredibly special bond. Wherever Rick was, that was where Raven wanted to be—and it was always her favorite place to sleep.

Raven could be incredibly sweet one second, gently placing a paw on your face and staring deeply into your eyes, and then suddenly take off in a full sprint to guard the refrigerator. She was also a determined little food thief who would overcome just about any obstacle to steal something from a plate. Asking what her favorite food was had a very simple answer—all of it!

She loved choosing toys from the toy bucket, climbing into a lap to share them, and convincing someone to join her for a little tug-of-war. Raven filled her home with laughter, mischief, affection, and a personality far bigger than anyone could have imagined.

She leaves behind her two-legged and four-legged siblings, and two parents who desperately wish they had been given more time with their sweet girl. Six years was simply not enough.

There should have been so many more memories, but the ones Raven gave her family will be held especially close. She began as another foster pup coming up the driveway, but with one look between Raven and Rick, she had already found her forever home.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever Rick and Katy’s sweet little spitfire. 🐾🤍
