Samuel Drake Cash, lovingly known as Sam and Big Boy, was a gentle, loving soul who brought endless happiness and unconditional love to his family. Born on June 18, 2017, in Sumter, South Carolina, Sam found his forever home on August 12, 2017, when he joined the Cash family in Camden, South Carolina. From that day forward, he became a cherished member of the family and a faithful companion to everyone he loved.
Sam was a big boy with an even bigger heart. He never met a stranger and found his greatest happiness simply being around people. Whether he was greeting visitors, snuggling with his family, or loving on the grandkids when they came to visit, Sam had a special way of making everyone feel welcome and loved.
Sam took his job as the family’s front-door guardian very seriously. He loved napping on his bed by the door or peeking through the front window, patiently waiting for his family to return home. And when it was time to eat, he made sure Mom knew it by giving her a few reminders with his bark!
He especially loved spending time outdoors with his brother, Cooper. The two were true partners in crime, always on the lookout for deer, squirrels, and birds. Sam enjoyed running through the backyard, chasing deer, and digging holes that made the perfect cool spots to stretch out and relax.
When it came to food, Sam enjoyed green beans with chicken and rice, steak, hot dogs, and Little Debbie cakes. At the end of the day, he was happiest resting on his dog bed or curled up in the big king-sized bed with his KK, sharing the warm snuggles that made him so special.
For nine wonderful years, Sam filled his family’s home with love, laughter, and companionship. His gentle nature, loving heart, and devotion to his family made him truly one of a kind.
Although his favorite spot by the front door may now be empty, his family will forever remember the sweet boy who watched for them through the window, welcomed them home, and loved them with his whole heart.
