Sumter- Smokey Blackwell, 21, passed away peacefully at home on January 11, 2022. Smokey was Born September 1, 2000.
Smokey loved to snuggle on the couch and watch TV. He had an amazing temperament and never met a stranger. Smokey was one of a kind and there will never be another cat like him.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Dr. Sarah Blackwell; and fur siblings, Boots, Gucci and Maximus.

Ive been familiar with smokey since i was old enough to walk. I miss him dearly and i will always think of him when i come back home. He was a calm, cool and collective cat. We love you Smokey ❤️
Smokey Joe as I affectionately called his was so beautiful and sweet. He was the sheriff in the Blackwell household. He made sure all the conflicts with the other fur members of the family were handled swiftly before anybody could be harmed.
RIP old man. Love you always!
Smokey was truly the sweetest cat! He welcomed both of my fur babies into the family and showed them how to roll! His cuddles will be greatly missed and we’ll see him waiting on the other side of rainbow bridge.
Smokey was a gentle loving cat. Also he protected our family like a guard dog. He’d go toe to toe with the best of them. Anybody that came to our home would be greeted at the door by Smokey. He was gentle, kind hearted,tough and strong All of us loved him.
