Princess Kayse Blue

ELGIN- Princess Kayse Blue, 11, passed away on January 9, 2023. She was born in Bishopville on April 1, 2011.

Princess Kayse, also known as “Kayse” or “Kayse Blue,” enjoyed swimming in the pond, chasing geese, finding snakes, squirrel hunting, escape artist stunts, ruining deer hunts, golf cart or tractor rides, Bojangles biscuit runs, & napping with her Daddy. Her favorite toy was a stuffed Santa Clause and her favorite place to sleep was snuggled in one of her many beds or curled up in her Daddy’s lap. She loved Greenies & Beggin Strips.

As soon as her Daddy locked eyes on her, a little black haired beauty with a white spot on her chest, he scooped her up and held her close to his heart and just smiled said, “This is the one.”

Kayse loved howling with her Daddy. He would call the cows or her sister Indigo and Kayse would howl and howl with him. When she was with her sister they would howl louder and louder together. It was deafening and joyous.

Kayse loved following her Daddy around the farm as he worked. If the tractor was running she wasn’t far from it. She’d be in her Daddy’s lap or finding new smells while he worked.

Every Spring Kayse would chase the geese all over the pond. She was an avid swimmer and gosling hunter. They rarely stood a chance against her and she would spend the entire spring smelling like a muddy pond.

Left to cherish her memory is her parents, James & Barbara Fincher; sibling, Kara, Kathy, Kate and Morgan; and her litter mate & sister, Indigo.
