Gabby Ford

Elgin, SC – Gabby Ford, 1yr, passed away on February 14, 2023. Gabby was born October 21, 2021, on Cherished Goats Farm, in Elgin, South Carolina.

Gabby, also known as “Gabby Girl, Mama’s Girl, Sweetheart” enjoyed following Cherish around everywhere, being very vocal whenever she saw her or heard her voice. Gabby Girl’s favorite place to sleep was on the chest of her best friend and Mama, Cherish. When not following Cherish around, Sweetheart would find Cherish and follow her around some more. She liked to keep things simple when it came to her favorite type of food and was always found munching on hay.

Some of the Ford family favorite memories of Gabby Girl are when she would see Cherish or even just hear her voice, she would start talking to her. She thought if she was outside then Cherish should be right there with her loving on her and spoiling her. Which she did! Mama could just call her name and she would talk back to her and start running toward Cherish. There were many days and nights where Gabby and Cherish would cuddle up on the couch and fall asleep with Gabby laying on Cherish’s chest. When Cherish would leave the room she’d jump off the couch and run all around the house “baaaing” until she found her. She truly was their baby girl!! Cherish had to bottle feed Gabby since her mom rejected her at birth, which created a very tight bond between the two.  Cherish loved her like she was her own child! Gabby Ford is survived by her goat siblings Si, Bonnet, Billbo, Pumpkin, Sophie, Olivia, and goat mom Pansy. She is also survived by her human parents Cherish and Chris Ford.

Gabby “Sweetheart” Ford. You will be missed, and your memories will remain and forever be cherished.

  1. Cherish and Chris, I am so sorry for your sadness and the loss of your sweet Gabby. The post I once saw of her running around the room and jumping on the sofa baaa-ing because Mom wasn’t in the room with her was one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen. I know having her hoof print, hair, and precious cremains mean the world to you both.
