Lugoff, SC – Chewie Koenig, 12yrs, passed away on March 11, 2023. Chewie was born in October 2010, in Florence, South Carolina.
Chewie was full of life and loved creating memories with family that will last forever. He enjoyed playing with his toys and most notably his favorite American Eagle plush toy that he would carry around everywhere. He liked all kinds of food but was very fond of doggie treats. He had the slyest way of approaching unsuspecting family members in solicitation of treats. He was making the assumption they had no knowledge of him already having indulged in a doggie treat moments before. He loved car rides and going on walks in the park, wrestling with his brother Ziggy, and cuddles of any sort with anybody. His favorite place to sleep was in a spot on the sofa he judiciously reserved for himself.
Some of the Koenig’s family favorite memories of Chewie are taking him hiking in the mountains with family. Here he became renowned in a location where people had never seen a big white poodle before. He stood calm and emanated care and sweetness for those who curiously pet and admired him. Chewie is survived by his fur siblings Ziggy, Max, And LeeRoy, his human siblings Devon, Sierra, Nate, Corbin, and Cheyenne, Grandma Margaret, and parents Susan and T.C. Koenig.
