Bertha

Bertha, beloved pig of Cotton Branch Farm Rescue, passed away June 23, 2023.

Bertha was rescued in 2018 from the nation’s largest pig hoarding case. She was shy and timid, but then came around to getting pets and love. She was a boss of her herd, but always gentle and laid back.

Bertha loved her pools and wallows and would relax in them for long periods of time. She loved her fruit and veggies, and grazing on the grass.

Even though she was quiet and laid back, she had a presence about her that you could never ignore. We will miss that sweet presence,  her little smile when she looked up at us while soaking in her pool, and those beautiful eyes that pierced hearts.

We love you Bertha, we miss you always.
