Born in November 2016 and found at a shelter in Orlando, Florida, Rusty Tidwell—lovingly called Roo—was destined to be more than just a shelter dog. When his mom Karen first met him, his name was Luka. From the moment she saw him, she fell in love. All Rusty wanted was to be petted and loved on, and in that instant, she knew he was coming home with her.
Rusty joined the loving family of Karen and Darryl Tidwell, becoming a beloved brother to Missy, Junior, and Shadow. Though he wasn’t much for toys, Rusty found joy in his favorite activities—chasing squirrels and cats, his playful energy always on display.
When it was time to rest, his favorite place was at the foot of the bed with his parents, keeping watch and staying close to the ones he loved most. He had a special love for food, especially anything with gravy, which always made him wag with delight.
Rusty was a gentle, loyal soul whose heart belonged entirely to his family. He gave them love, companionship, and comfort in countless ways, filling their home with warmth and joy.
On September 3, 2025, Rusty passed, leaving behind a family forever grateful for the years they had together. Though his time was too short, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain forever.
Rest peacefully, sweet Roo.
You came into this world wanting nothing more than love—and you gave it back a hundred times over. You will never be forgotten. 🐾❤️

Our deepest condolences and sorrow, Karen, Darryl, and furry siblings. It is never easy to say goodbye or lose one we hold so dear. Mr. Rusty did his job well, with love, companionship, and protection. Always remember, he is tucked safely within your hearts and memories, always close, always near. Love from M, J, and the girls.
