Smokie Payne

In Loving Memory of Smokie Payne
2013 — April 6, 2026

Smokie Payne, affectionately known as Rue and Moe, was a deeply loved companion whose gentle presence and loving heart brought comfort and happiness to his family every single day.

Born in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Smokie was cherished by his devoted parents, Liz and Reggie Payne, and shared his life with his beloved siblings Summer, Nash, and Buttercup. He was more than just a pet — he was family, a constant source of warmth, and a quiet, loving presence in their home.

Smokie found joy in the simplest things. Whether it was batting around Q-Tips, whiskers, or pens, or curling up for his favorite pastime — snuggling with Dad — he lived a life full of comfort and love. His favorite place in the world was right beside his daddy, where he felt safe, content, and exactly where he belonged.

He had a special love for good food — especially turkey, bacon, and salmon — and never missed an opportunity to enjoy a tasty treat. But more than anything, Smokie loved being close to his people, offering companionship in the quiet moments that mattered most.

When it comes to memories, there are simply too many to count — because every moment spent with Smokie was meaningful. His presence made ordinary days feel special, and his love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Though Smokie is no longer physically here, his spirit lives on in every snuggle remembered, every quiet moment, and every piece of love he left behind.

Run free, sweet Smokie. You were deeply loved, and you will always be missed. 🐾🤍
