Tommy Burr, lovingly known as “Handsome,” was a gentle, affectionate soul whose presence brought warmth, comfort, and joy to his family every single day.
Born on February 12, 2015, and adopted from PetSense in Columbia, South Carolina in June 2017, Tommy didn’t just find a home — he chose his person. From the very beginning, his loud, soothing purr and the way he sat on your feet made it clear that he knew exactly where he belonged.
Tommy was deeply loved by his family — Eugene, Sheila, Katrina, and Katherine — and shared his days with his siblings Ashe, Maxine, and Yukio. Together, they created a home full of companionship, love, and quiet, meaningful moments.
He found joy in the simple things — chasing the red dot laser, swatting at anything small that made noise, lounging on his cat tree, and curling up in cozy spots throughout the house. But his favorite place of all was wherever his person was — especially sitting in their lap after a long day, purring contently.
Tommy had a calm, loving nature that made him unforgettable. Whether he was sleeping peacefully on a bed or chair, or happily enjoying whatever food was placed in his bowl, he carried a quiet happiness that made every moment feel special.
His family’s favorite memory says it best — Tommy chose them, and in doing so, gave them nine beautiful years filled with love, comfort, and companionship. Those years will forever be treasured.
Though his physical presence is gone, his purr, his warmth, and his love will always remain — in every quiet moment and every cherished memory.
