In Loving Memory of Emil Balfour
May 11, 2013 — May 6, 2026
Emil Balfour, lovingly known as Emil Marcus or simply “Old Man,” was a loyal, joyful companion whose love and gentle spirit touched every member of his family.
Born in Wroclaw, Poland, Emil spent his life surrounded by love with his devoted parents, Carol and Michael Balfour, his children Wriggley and Ziva, and his many adored grandchildren. He was more than a pet — he was family, a protector, a best friend, and a constant source of happiness.
Emil had a playful side that never faded. He loved any toy with a squeaker in it and enjoyed running and exploring the world around him. One of his favorite adventures was going shopping at Lowe’s, where he could proudly stroll beside his family, soaking in every moment.
When it was time to rest, Emil’s favorite place was simple — on the bed with the people he loved most. Being close to his family brought him comfort, just as his presence brought comfort to them.
He never turned down a treat, no matter the kind, but the true sweetness in Emil’s life came from the love he shared with his family. One of the most cherished memories was the way he would lovingly kiss his grandkids every morning, greeting each day with affection and warmth that only he could give.
Emil’s love was steady, pure, and unconditional. His gentle heart and loyal companionship created memories that will forever be treasured by everyone lucky enough to know him.
Though his passing leaves an ache that words cannot fully express, the love he gave so freely will continue to live on in every memory, every quiet moment, and every morning that now feels a little emptier without him.
Run free, sweet Old Man. You were deeply loved and will forever remain in the hearts of your family. 🐾
