In Loving Memory of Trixie Bates

Trixie Bates, lovingly known as Monkey and Sweet Girl, was a tiny soul with a huge personality who brought endless laughter, love, and joy into the lives of everyone around her.
Coming into Lyndia Bates’ life in Lexington, South Carolina on August 24, 2017, Trixie quickly became much more than a pet — she became family. She shared her life with her human siblings Dana and Daniel, and her fur siblings Selene, Parker, Ruby, and Sable. But one of her most special bonds was with her beloved companion Candie.
Trixie was playful, spirited, and full of life. She loved cardboard boxes, paper towel rolls, and stuffies, turning the simplest things into endless entertainment. She spent her days running, digging in her dirt box, sleeping peacefully in her cozy cube, and — one of her favorite hobbies — stealing Candie’s food whenever she got the chance.
Her playful relationship with Candie created some of the sweetest memories. The two would wrestle, snatch snacks from one another, and even slap at each other over food like “a circus of clowns.” One unforgettable moment was when Candie reached over and gently popped Trixie right on the nose, sparking laughter and love in the room. They balanced each other perfectly — Candie was lovable, while Trixie was playful and mischievous.
Trixie also shared a special bond with her mom. When she played, she would hop around like a little bunny, climbing onto Lyndia’s hand to wrestle gently and lovingly. Even in her excitement, she was always gentle — a sweet little soul wrapped up in playful energy.
After Candie passed, Trixie mourned deeply, searching for her friend for days. Now, they are together again, reunited and free.
Trixie’s favorite treats were butternut squash and sugar snap peas, but what truly filled her life was love — love for her family, her friends, and the joyful moments they shared together.
Though her tiny paws no longer run through the house, the memories she created will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Run free, sweet Monkey. You and Candie are together again, forever loved and forever missed. 🐿️🤍
