On Saturday, June 27, our hearts said goodbye to a very special bunny, Shelby.
Shelby was first deeply loved by my mom for many years. After my mom passed away, Shelby came into my care two years ago, and it became my honor and privilege to love and care for her. Though our time together was shorter than I would have liked, she filled those years with joy, comfort, and precious memories.
Shelby shared her home with many beloved companions, including Tess the cat, Toots the dog, Bear the dog, Star the dog, and her four chicken friends. She had a sweet personality and an even sweeter tooth, especially when it came to rabbit treats and her favorite rabbit gum drops.
One of my favorite memories of Shelby was watching her stand up on her hind legs whenever she knew treats were coming. She always knew exactly when something special was headed her way. At night, she loved retreating to her cozy cubby, and sometimes she would sleep on her back with her little legs stretched up in the air, bringing smiles to everyone who saw her.
Shelby was a gentle and cherished companion whose memory will forever be carried in our hearts.
I will miss you, Shelby. Thank you for letting me take care of you.
