Daisy Spence, affectionately known as Loodie Loo and Boo Boo, was a tiny dog with the heart of a guardian and a love that knew no bounds. For nearly eighteen wonderful years, she faithfully watched over the people she loved, proving that courage isn’t measured by size, but by the depth of one’s heart.
Born in Lugoff, South Carolina, Daisy was the treasured companion of Duane and Barbie Spence. She now joins her beloved siblings Lacy, Precious, and Scotty at the Rainbow Bridge, while leaving behind her feline brother and sister, Loki and ZuLililly, whom she lovingly tolerated in her own special way.
Daisy’s favorite toy was her cherished stuffed Horsey, but nothing brought her more purpose than protecting her family. She took her job as guardian very seriously—especially when it came to her beloved Momma. No one approached Barbie without Daisy proudly standing watch, making sure everyone knew they had to earn her approval first. Though she was little, she was fearless, and her family always felt just a little safer knowing Daisy was on duty.
She could sleep just about anywhere, as long as she could keep an eye on the people she loved. Whether curled up nearby or resting in a spot where she could watch over the house, Daisy’s greatest priority was always her family.
Like many great companions, Daisy had a few favorite indulgences. She loved Slim Jims, cheese, and anything that Daddy lovingly prepared just for her. Every meal shared with the people she loved was another moment to cherish.
Some of the family’s most treasured memories are the quiet, everyday moments that now mean the most. Daisy was Momma’s constant companion, faithfully curled up beside her while they watched Netflix together, content simply being close. She also loved riding alongside Daddy in the golf cart, making trips to the creek where every ride felt like an adventure.
Daisy’s life was one of loyalty, devotion, and unconditional love. She protected fiercely, loved deeply, and gave her whole heart to the family that meant everything to her. Though her watch has ended here, the love she leaves behind will continue to surround those who knew her.
Today, the house feels quieter without the little guardian keeping watch, but her spirit lives on in every peaceful evening, every golf cart ride, and every memory shared with smiles and tears.
