Grady Heape

In Loving Memory of Grady Heape
2011 — July 3, 2026

Grady Heape, lovingly known as Grady or Buddy, was a loyal companion whose gentle heart and loving personality brought endless joy to his family.

Born in Lexington, South Carolina, Grady was deeply loved by his parents, Dwayne and Abby, and shared his home with his siblings Zoey, Minnie, and Piper. His favorite place was wherever his family was, whether curled up on the couch or snuggled in bed beside the people he loved.

Grady wasn’t interested in toys—he much preferred spending his time chasing squirrels, soaking up attention, and enjoying every moment with his family. If someone happened to be looking at their phone instead of him, Grady had the perfect solution—he’d gently knock it right out of their hand to remind them that petting him was much more important.

He wasn’t picky when it came to food and happily enjoyed just about anything he was offered, especially a delicious piece of steak.

There are far too many memories to count, but what his family will remember most is how deeply Grady loved. He wanted to be close, wanted your attention, and made sure you always knew just how much he cared. His unconditional love and faithful companionship made every day a little brighter.

Though his place on the couch now sits empty, Grady’s love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Run free, sweet Buddy. May there be endless squirrels to chase, cozy places to nap, plenty of steak, and all the love your heart can hold. You will always be loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten. 🐾🤍
