In Loving Memory of Ree Newman

Ree Newman, lovingly known as Ree Girl, was a sweet, independent girl who spent 13 wonderful years bringing love and plenty of personality into the lives of her parents, Miley and Cain. Born at Lake Wateree, South Carolina, Ree grew up surrounded by family, neighbors, and a community that became part of her world.
Ree came from a big family of 12 littermates, but she shared an especially close bond with her brother Cruz. In fact, Ree’s favorite toy was usually anything Cruz happened to have! She also shared her life with Camilla and her beloved “brother from another mother,” Jomin, who passed before her in 2023.
Ree Girl was quite the social butterfly around Lake Road. She loved making her rounds and visiting the neighbors—although her family suspects those visits may have had something to do with the treats she knew were waiting for her. Ree loved to eat, and when it came to favorite foods, anything would do.
She was also always ready for an adventure and loved riding on just about anything that moved. One of the memories Miley and Cain will hold especially close is coming home from a boat ride and seeing Ree waiting for them, just as she always did.
Whether she was resting in her bed or crate under the house, lying on the mat by the back door, visiting neighbors, or waiting for her family to return, Ree was a constant presence in their lives.
