In Loving Memory of Dudley Boone
May 1, 2013 — September 16, 2026
Dudley Boone, lovingly known as Duds, was a sweet and gentle soul who filled the lives of his parents, Eric and Deanna Boone, and his “two-legged brothers,” Andrew and Seth, with unconditional love. Dudley joined his forever family on January 1, 2014, after being adopted from the Kershaw County Humane Society in Camden, and from that day forward, it was pretty clear—it was Dudley’s house, and his family just got to live with him.

Duds loved a good game of tug-of-war with a towel and was an expert at keep-away whenever he had a toy in his mouth. But one of his favorite parts of every day was his nightly walk with Mom and Dad. Each evening, he would sit patiently in front of his mom, waiting to hear those special words: “You wanna go walk?”
Dudley never met a stranger. He loved visiting the neighbors, spending time with his friends, and going for rides with his head hanging out the window and his ears flapping in the wind. At home, he was happiest cuddled beside his family on the couch or bed, relaxing in his recliner by the sliding glass doors, or keeping Dad company in the office as his faithful study buddy.

He also took his nighttime snacks very seriously. Dudley loved peanut butter and just about anything his family was willing to share. If those snacks were running a little late, a gentle paw placed on an arm or leg was all the reminder he needed to give.
Perhaps what his family will miss most are his greetings. Dudley knew the sound of their cars pulling into the driveway and was always waiting at the door, tail wagging, genuinely overjoyed that his people were home.
On September 16, 2026, Dudley said goodbye to the family who had loved him for so many wonderful years. From his gotcha day to his very last day, Duds gave them a love that was constant, gentle, and true.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever their Duds. 🐾🤍
